Arminia 2 – Greuther Fürth 2:Arminia and Greuther Fürth share the honours after a 2-2 draw

Arminia were held to 2-2 draw by Greuther Fürth down on Sunday at the Schüco Arena. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Arminia were looking for a victory after a 2-2 draw against SC Freiburg. Greuther Fürth, on the other hand, had managed to pick up a single point in their encounter with Stuttgart. As it stands, Arminia and Greuther Fürth are 16th, (18 points) and 18th, (7 points), in the league respectively, after 19 matches.

Arminia dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from Masaya Okugawa, 8 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jamie Leweling equalised for Greuther Fürth in the 35th minute. The score at half time was 1-1.

Greuther Fürth took the initiative in the second half, with Havard Nielsen finding the net, 67 minutes in. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Gonzalo Castro equalised for The Blues, 83 minutes in, leaving the final score at 2-2.

For Arminia, Robin Hack, Manuel Prietl, Janni Serra, Gonzalo Castro and Guilherme Ramos, came on for Patrick Wimmer, Sebastian Vasiliadis, Florian Kruger, Alessandro Schopf and Cedric Brunner. Greuther Fürth brought on Jetro Willems, Havard Nielsen, Afimico Pululu, Maximilian Bauer and Simon Asta, to replace Gian-Luca Itter, Jeremy Dudziak, Branimir Hrgota, Jamie Leweling and Timothy Tillmann.

There were bookings for Sebastian Vasiliadis, Andres Andrade, Joakim Nilsson and Guilherme Ramos from Arminia, and Gian-Luca Itter, for Greuther Fürth.

Arminia will next play Eintracht Frankfurt away, with Greuther Fürth facing Mainz at home.
