Greuther Fürth 1 – Union Berlin 0:Greuther Fürth triumph over Union Berlin in a 1-0 home win

Greuther Fürth snatched all three points from Union Berlin in a narrow 1-0 victory on Sunday, at Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer. Greuther Fürth were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Bayer Leverkusen. Union Berlin, on the other hand, were coming from a 2-1 win against RB Leipzig. As the table looks today, Greuther Fürth and Union Berlin are 18th, (4 points) and 6th, (23 points), spots respectively, after 15 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Greuther Fürth certainly were out of the blocks quickly in the second half, thanks to Havard Nielsen giving Greuther Fürth the lead, at 55 minutes. When the final wisthle blew, the result was 1-0 to Greuther Fürth.

For Greuther Fürth, Jamie Leweling, Cedric Itten, Nils Seufert and Jeremy Dudziak, came on for Dickson Abiama, Branimir Hrgota, Timothy Tillmann and Havard Nielsen. Union Berlin brought on Taiwo Awoniyi, Andreas Voglsammer, Cedric Teuchert and Keita Endo, to replace Max Kruse, Timo Baumgartl, Genki Haraguchi and Kevin Behrens.

The referee booked Paul Seguin, Maximilian Bauer and Jamie Leweling for Greuther Fürth.

Greuther Fürth will next play Borussia Dortmund away, with Union Berlin facing SC Freiburg at home.
