Leicester 4 – Newcastle 0:Leicester blaze past Newcastle, scoring 4 at the King Power Stadium without reply

Newcastle United fell to an away defeat at the hands of Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Sunday. Leicester were looking to get back their winning ways, following a previous defeat to Aston Villa. Newcastle, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 1-0 victory against Burnley. As the table looks today, Leicester are in 8th place on the table and has 22 points while Newcastle sit in 19th with 10 points after 16 matches.

It was an impressive opening from Leicester, with Youri Tielemans opening the rout at the 38 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

The Foxes continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, with a goal from Patson Daka at the 57 minute mark. Leicester looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a second effort from Youri Tielemans, 81 minutes in to establish a 3-0. Leicester then netted again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from James Maddison just before the final whistle to make it 4-0.

Leicester brought on Boubakary Soumare, Marc Albrighton and Kasey Mcateer for Jonny Evans, Harvey Barnes and James Maddison. Newcastle brought on Ryan Fraser, Jacob Murphy and Matt Ritchie, to replace Miguel Almiron, Jamal Lewis and Jonjo Shelvey.

There were bookings for Timothy Castagne and Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester. For Newcastle, Jamal Lewis, Javi Manquillo and Allan Saint-Maximin saw yellow.

Leicester will next play Tottenham Hotspur at home, with Newcastle facing Liverpool away.
