Man City 1 – Wolves 0:Visitors leave with nothing, as Man City secure 1-0 home win against Wolves

Wolverhampton Wanderers on away loss to Man City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. Man City were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two matches in the competition. The most recent was against the Watford away (3-1), the other to Aston Villa away (2-1). Wolves, on the other hand, lost 1-0 in the last match they played against Liverpool. As the table looks today, Man City are currently 1st with 38 points from 16 matches, while Wolves sit in 8th, with 21 points from 16.

After an un-eventful first half, Cityzens piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Raheem Sterling giving Man City the lead, at 66 minutes. They managed to see the game out with a clean sheet and a final score of 1-0.

For Man City, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne, came on for Ilkay Gundogan and Jack Grealish. Wolves brought on Hee-chan Hwang, Trincao and Daniel Podence for Adama Traore, Ruben Neves and Leander Dendoncker.

The referee booked Ruben Dias, Rodri and Joao Cancelo from Man City. Wolves had the worst of it though, with Raul Jimenez, Ruben Neves and Leander Dendoncker seeing yellow, and Raul Jimenez (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Man City will play their next fixture at home against Leeds United, while Wolves will face Brighton & Hove Albion away.
