
Spurs 2 – Liverpool 2:Spurs held 2-2 by Liverpool in at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Spurs were held to 2-2 draw by Liverpool down on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Both Spurs and Liverpool arrived on the back of wins. Spurs were looking to continue their run after winning their previous two games in the league. The most recent was against the Norwich City at home (3-0), the other to Brentford at home (2-0) whilst Liverpool were hoping to increase their winning streak after back-to-back victories against Newcastle United and Aston Villa. As the table looks today, Spurs are in 7th place, with 25 points from 18 matches, while Liverpool sit in 2nd, with 40 points from 18.
The Lilywhites started the first half well, thanks to Harry Kane giving Spurs the lead, 13 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Diogo Jota equalised for Liverpool, 35 minutes in to see out the first half 1-1.
The Reds took the initiative in the second half, with a goal from Andy Robertson, 69 minutes in. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Heung Min Son equalised for Spurs in the 74th minute. The final result, Spurs 2, Liverpool 2.
Both teams used all available substitutes. For Spurs, Oliver Skipp, Lucas Moura and Sergio Reguilon, came on for Tanguy Ndombele, Dele Alli and Ryan Sessegnon, Liverpool brought on Roberto Firmino, Kostas Tsimikas and Joe Gomez, to replace Tyler Morton, Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.
The referee booked Harry Kane, Emerson, Harry Winks and Ben Davies from Spurs. Liverpool had the worst of it though, with Tyler Morton, Naby Keita, Ibrahima Konate and Kostas Tsimikas seeing yellow, and Andy Robertson then sent off with a red.
Liverpool and Spurs will next play at home to Leeds United and Crystal Palace respectively.
